Route survey triggers
- HeightHeight exceeds 4.15 m (13.6 ft) โ special permit required
- WidthWidth exceeds 2.6 m (8.5 ft) โ special permit required
- LengthLength exceeds 25.0 m (82.0 ft) โ special permit required
- WeightGVW exceeds 63,500 kg (140,000 lbs) โ overweight permit required
- WidthWidth exceeds 5.0 m (16.4 ft) โ route survey required
- HeightHeight exceeds 5.0 m (16.4 ft) โ route survey required
- WeightGVW exceeds 140,000 kg (308,650 lbs) โ engineering analysis required
Fee notes
Single-trip C$25 base. Annual TRAVIS permit C$700. Overweight C$0.06/tonne-km surcharge. Superload (>5 m wide, >63,500 kg) requires Alberta Transportation engineering review at C$500+.
