Survey Scheduling & Team Assignment

6 min read

Survey Scheduling lets you create, assign, and track field survey tasks โ€” ensuring your team knows what needs to be done, when, and to what standard, without coordination by email.

Survey Scheduling brings structure to the field coordination process. Instead of managing survey assignments through messages and calls, you create tasks in RoadScope and assign them to team members directly.

Creating a Survey Task

  1. Open the project in RoadScope
  2. Navigate to the Survey Schedule panel
  3. Create a new survey task
  4. Specify: route segment or area, required POI types, due date, and assignee
  5. Add any special instructions or priority designations
  6. Save โ€” the assigned team member receives a notification

Team Member View

Assigned team members see their survey tasks in the mobile app. Each task shows: - The route segment or area to survey - Required POI types and minimum documentation standards - Due date and priority - Any special instructions from the project manager

Tracking Progress

As field data is captured and POIs are created, the Survey Schedule updates automatically. Project managers can see: - Tasks in progress, completed, and outstanding - POI capture rate against the expected coverage - Any segments falling behind due date

Status Escalation

Tasks approaching their due date without completion are flagged in the schedule. This allows project managers to reassign or adjust timelines before deadlines are missed.

Best Practices

  • Create survey tasks before field teams leave the office โ€” not the night before
  • Specify minimum documentation standards per task (photo required, measurement required, etc.)
  • Use due dates that account for travel and weather contingency
  • Review completed tasks before closing them โ€” data quality check before the field team disperses
