What the Driver Briefing Includes
*Route Overview* - Simplified route map with directional markers - Total distance and estimated travel time - Origin, destination, and key waypoints - Jurisdiction crossings and permit reference numbers
*Hazard Summary* - Priority constraints listed in route-sequence order - Critical clearances (measured, not estimated) - Weight restrictions and load limits - Intersection geometry warnings
*Critical POI Callouts* - Each high-priority POI with photo and field notes - GPS coordinates for precise location reference - Measurement data and clearance margins - Mitigation requirements and contact information
*Operational Notes* - Escort transition points and staging areas - Time-of-day restrictions - Emergency contact information - Any special handling requirements
How to Generate a Driver Briefing PDF
1. Open the route project in RoadScope 2. Navigate to Reports Hub 3. Select "Driver Briefing" as the report type 4. Choose which POIs to include (all or priority-only) 5. Review the generated briefing in the preview 6. Export to PDF for distribution
Best Practices
- Generate the briefing after the route survey is complete and verified
- Review priority POIs before generating — these become the callouts
- Include only constraints relevant to the specific load configuration
- Print and have a physical copy available even if sharing digitally
- Update the briefing if the route or constraints change before the move
