SweptPRO Intersection Analysis

Simulate the swept path of your load through critical intersections, place obstacles, and generate an engineering report.

What Is SweptPRO?

SweptPRO is the intersection analysis workspace. It simulates the swept path of a vehicle combination through a turn or intersection and checks it against the real constraints you place on the imagery โ€” curbs, poles, signs, buildings โ€” producing a pass/fail verdict and an engineering-grade report.

Starting an Analysis

1. Open Intersection Analysis on the intersection you need to study

2. Follow the guided steps: set the guideline (the path the steering axle follows), configure the vehicle, and place obstacles

3. Run the simulation and review the swept envelope against your obstacles

Vehicle Configuration

Pick a vehicle from the equipment catalog or define a custom combination: tractor, trailer(s), overhang, and load dimensions. Multi-articulation combinations are supported.

Setting Up the Equipment Library

The Equipment Library at /equipment-library is the shared catalog behind vehicle configuration. It has two tabs:

  • **Units** โ€” individual pieces of equipment: tractor, jeep, trailer, booster, dolly, and load. Each unit records its overall length and width, hitch positions and types, axle groups (position, axle count, spacings), and โ€” for tractors โ€” the maximum wheel cut. Load units can start from a Load Library preset or be saved as a template. Plan and elevation previews update as you edit.
  • **Assembler** โ€” chain saved units into named vehicle combinations: pick units, order them, and save. The total combination length is shown, and validation errors block saving an inconsistent chain.
  • The library is a shared global catalog: administrators create and edit entries; other users browse it read-only and pick from it in the analysis. Units can be duplicated, archived, and displayed in metric or feet-and-inches.

    Obstacles & Clearance

Place point and line obstacles directly on the imagery. The analysis reports the minimum clearance between the swept envelope and each obstacle, and fails the run when the envelope overruns an obstacle or the corridor edge.

    Vertical Profile & Grounding

Add a vertical profile to the analysis to check grounding through grade breaks โ€” a crest between the load supports is the critical case.

    Special Maneuvers

Document special maneuvers (reversing, counter-steering, escorts moving furniture like signs) as lettered steps. These carry through to the report and to the driver briefing.

    Reports

Generate the intersection analysis report with the swept path graphics, clearance table, maneuver list, and verdicts โ€” ready to attach to a permit application or client deliverable.
