Live Road Events
See live closures, roadwork, and incidents from official feeds directly on your route map.
What Are Road Events?
Road events are live conditions โ closures, roadwork, incidents, special restrictions โ ingested from official government feeds (such as provincial 511 services) and displayed on your map. Some feeds include OS/OW-relevant details like temporary width or height limits.
Viewing Events on the Map
Enable the road events layer to see event markers in your viewport. Click a marker for the event details: type, description, affected direction, and schedule when the source provides one.
Events Along a Corridor
When generating or reviewing a route, the Road Events panel lists the events that actually intersect the corridor โ not just events in the general area โ so you can judge the impact on your specific alignment.
Coverage & Freshness
Coverage follows the official feeds available for each region and is bounded by real jurisdiction borders. Events refresh continuously; a feed that fails to load is reported as unavailable rather than silently showing an empty (falsely clear) corridor. For continuous monitoring of a saved route, use Route Watch.
