What Permit Auto-Fill Does
Permit Application Auto-Fill takes the data you have already captured in RoadScope — the route, the load envelope, the equipment configuration, and the carrier details — and pre-populates the appropriate jurisdictional permit application for you. The result is a near-complete application ready for final review.
Supported Application Types
Auto-fill templates are maintained for the most common North American OS/OW permit applications, including state DOT single-trip permits, multi-state corridor permits, and provincial transport permits. The available templates surface automatically based on your route geography.
How to Generate an Application
1. Open the route you want to permit
2. Choose **Generate Permit Application** from the Routes menu
3. Select the issuing jurisdiction and application type
4. RoadScope fills the form using your route, load, equipment, and carrier records
5. Review the populated fields, fill any remaining jurisdiction-specific fields, and export as PDF
Carrier & Equipment Profiles
Save your carrier details (USDOT/MC numbers, insurance) and your tractor/trailer configurations once in the Equipment library. Auto-fill pulls from these profiles on every future application — no re-typing.
Versioning
Each generated application is saved into the Document Hub with a version label (V01, V02, V03…) so revisions and resubmissions are tracked alongside the rest of the project.
Important
Auto-fill produces a strong starting point but is not a substitute for jurisdictional review. Always verify every field against the issuing authority's current requirements before submission.
