What Is NAV Live Dispatch?
NAV Live Dispatch turns RoadScope into a real-time operations console. Office dispatchers can see every active field user on a single map, push planned routes directly to the in-cab SolTecNAV PWA, and exchange live notes with drivers and surveyors throughout the move.
Live Crew Presence
Once a NAV user signs in to the SolTecNAV PWA on their phone or tablet, their live GPS position appears on the dispatch map with their name, current speed, and last-update timestamp. Markers update continuously while the device has signal.
Pushing a Route to a Driver
From the dispatch panel, pick the planned route to send, choose the surveyor from the active crew list, optionally select the POIs to include, and add a short message. The route path, its POIs, and your message are delivered to their device instantly.
Accept or Save for Later
On the driver's device, a Route Dispatched banner appears at the top of NAV showing who sent it, the route name, the message, and the POI count. The driver has two real choices:
Dismissing the banner only snoozes it for about 10 minutes โ it is not an acknowledgement, and the dispatch stays pending.
Dispatch Status Badges
Back in the office, the dispatch panel tracks each send live: waiting for the device, then Delivered to Device once the banner has reached the driver, then Route Accepted by Surveyor or Saved for Later depending on their choice. You always know whether the crew is driving the latest plan.
Field Notes & Comments
Drivers and surveyors can drop geotagged comments on POIs while in the field โ flagging unexpected conditions, capturing photos, or noting completed checks. Comments appear in the office in real time.
Offline Resilience
NAV is a Progressive Web App with offline-first caching. Saved and accepted routes are stored on-device, so if a driver loses signal, the most recent route, POIs, and Driver Briefing remain available, and any field notes queue locally and sync when connectivity returns. Crew presence markers also report connection quality (good / fair / poor) so dispatch can tell a parked crew from one out of coverage.
