Three Unit Modes

RoadScope now supports three measurement modes: Metric (metres, km), Imperial (feet, miles in decimal), and Feet & Inches (ft′ in″ format). Canonical storage is always SI; the unit preference controls display and input only.

Where to Set It

Open Settings > Workspace Preferences > Units and choose your preferred mode. The setting applies to your user account and takes effect immediately across the map, route summaries, reports, Driver Briefings, and the Client Delivery Portal.

What Changes

  • Clearance height and width fields (both input and display)
  • Route distances and segment lengths
  • Speed displays in NAV
  • Distance columns in exports and reports
  • Distance fields in the permit auto-fill output
  • Feet & Inches Mode

The ft′ in″ mode displays clearances as, for example, 14′ 6″ rather than 14.5 ft or 4.42 m. Input fields accept ft/in values directly. Report PDFs and Driver Briefings display the ft′ in″ format when this mode is active.

    Per-Deliverable Override

When generating a Driver Briefing or Client Delivery Portal link, you can override the workspace unit just for that deliverable — useful when a specific client has a fixed convention that differs from your workspace default.
