The RoadScope Data Model
RoadScope is built around three core concepts: Projects, Routes, and Points of Interest (POIs). Understanding how these interact is the key to using RoadScope effectively.
Projects
A Project is the container for all data related to a specific route survey engagement. Each project has one or more routes, a POI database, and a set of generated deliverables.
Routes
A Route defines the corridor under analysis. Routes are drawn on the map as a sequence of coordinates. RoadScope analyzes constraints along the route corridor and generates elevation profiles, grade analysis, and clearance summaries.
Points of Interest (POIs)
POIs are the foundation of route intelligence. Each POI represents a physical feature on or near the route that is relevant to heavy haul operations:
- **Clearances** — Bridge heights, wire heights, overpass clearances
- **Constraints** — Narrow lanes, tight turns, weight-restricted surfaces
- **Hazards** — Construction zones, low-clearance railroad crossings
- **References** — Staging areas, fuel stops, escort transition points
Survey Books
A Survey Book is a structured collection of POIs organized for a specific survey pass. Survey Books link field observations to routes and support team-based data collection workflows.
Deliverables
RoadScope turns your project data into professional deliverables: PDF reports, GeoPDF map books, Driver Briefing documents, and live Client Delivery Portal links.
