Enter your load envelope and instantly surface every POI where the documented clearance falls within your safety threshold.
What Is the Clearance Cross-Check?
The Overhead Clearance Cross-Check is a load-envelope validation tool that compares your load height (and optionally width and weight) against the documented clearances of every relevant POI on the route. POIs that conflict with — or come within a defined safety margin of — your load are immediately surfaced.
Running a Cross-Check
1. Open the Clearance tab in the route analysis panel
2. Enter your load height, width, and weight
3. Set your safety margin (e.g., 6 inches / 150 mm of clearance above the load)
4. Click Run Cross-Check
RoadScope processes every POI with a documented clearance and categorizes each one as Clear, Caution (within safety margin), or Conflict (clearance insufficient for the load).
Danger Badges
POIs that trigger a Conflict appear with a red Danger badge on the map, in the POI list, and in any generated report. Caution POIs get an amber badge. Click any badge to jump directly to the POI and review the full measurement record.
Special Maneuver Badges
Where a POI requires a special maneuver — wide swing through an intersection, split-escort procedure, or pilot car stop — a Special Maneuver badge is shown. Tapping the badge opens a map overlay showing the maneuver outline and any posted notes.
Per-POI-Type Maximum Envelope
The Cross-Check panel shows a breakdown by POI type: for each type (Bridges, Utilities, Signs, Tunnels…), the minimum recorded clearance across all instances is shown. This gives a single-glance view of the tightest constraints across the route.
Exporting Results
The Cross-Check results are included in the Full Report as a Clearance Conflict Summary table. Excel exports include a Conflict column and the Danger badge status for each row.
