360° Street View in RoadScope
RoadScope includes an integrated 360° street-level imagery system that captures georeferenced panoramic photos during route surveys and makes them available in a synchronized viewer alongside your POI data.
Supported Cameras
RoadScope integrates with consumer and professional 360° cameras via the Camera-Bridge Windows service:
- **GoPro MAX** — Recommended for most survey applications
- **Ricoh Theta** — Compact option for tight access environments
- **Insta360** — High-resolution option for critical clearance documentation
The Capture Pipeline
1. Mount the camera on your survey vehicle
2. Start the Camera-Bridge service on the connected Windows device
3. Begin your route survey — frames are captured automatically at configurable intervals
4. At the end of the survey, the bridge service uploads frames with GPS timestamps
The Processing Pipeline
Uploaded frames are processed by RoadScope to:
- Strip and associate GPS coordinates from frame timestamps
- Stitch frames into a navigable viewer sequence
- Index frames for synchronized playback with the route map
The Street View Viewer
In the RoadScope map, click any segment of the route to open the 360° viewer at that location. The viewer is synchronized with the map — moving along the route updates the imagery, and clicking imagery jumps the map to that location.
